Maddoxs Room

Greg & I in the half completed nursery!

Of course her artistic ability did not disappoint....look at that M! Amazing Alicia. Your gonna be a good Aunt Aweesha! Alicia came to town and I had to put her to work with her amazing arts and craft skills. I wanted a big M that looked like a letterman jacket patch to go above Maddoxs bed and to match the vintage looking sports wall art in the room.
I had to put the bedding on to see how it looked on the new crib!

We have started getting the nursery together. Greg painted the room, the crib is in and the wall art has been hung. There is still a lot to do but this is where we are so far!

Built with Lots of Love

Grandpa Jewell is so proud to welcome his first Grandson!

Dad did an amazing job.

Greg & Dad moving the bed in!

Dad delivered the crib this past weekend!

My grandfather was a master woodworker. He has since passed on all his wood working tools to my Dad who has taken up this new hobby. We thought it would be so special for him to make Maddoxs crib. He was excited to and we were all amazed at the outcome. I found a pic of the crib I wanted and he built it! Most importantly Maddox will sleep the first few years of his life ina bed that was built with lots of love! What a special gift!

Maddox Looks like Daddy!

Ok so maybe you cant really tell who he looks like yet but I think this has Greg written all over it! He is getting big. This was on April 6th and he weighed a little over 2 and a half pounds. I went back to the DR. this monday and all is well.

Sweet Lucy & a Relaxing trip to East TX

KK & Sweet Lucy Grace

Greg & I went to Sulphur Springs to spend the weekend with my Sweet Friend KK, her husband Ryan and their precious Lucy. KK & I were roommates in college for 5 years. It was great to spend a weekend with them. We spent Friday in Sulphur Springs and then went to their lake house on Saturday. The weather did not cooperate but it was a perfect weekend!

Baby Nurse becomes Maddox Nurse

We found out on February 12th that our little bundle of joy was going to be a boy! We were 100% thrilled! Look how much he has grown.

Home Again Home Again!

The most exciting part of the move was opening all of our Great Wedding Gifts!

The search for a new place was intensified by the exciting news that we would be more than a family of 2 in 9 short months. Mom and Dad were gracious enough to let us create a little apartment in the upstairs of their house while we hunted the perfect place. We found it! We moved at the end of January into a perfect house for us to start our family in! We love it. It has so much character since it was built in the 30s! We love our neighborhood and have great neighbors!

1 + 1 quickly = 3

We found out Baby Nurse would join us in July 2009!

A move to TX that came quicker than expected was not the only big suprise we had in 2008. We had the biggest and blessed suprise we could have imagined! We found out we were no longer going to be a party of 2! Look at this little peanut!

The day I married my Best Friend!

Greg & I got engaged on Christmas Day 2007. Wow that sounds like so long ago but seems like just yesterday. Again, looking back it makes me smile to think of the special moments we shared when he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him! We spent our entire engagement in Boston and planned a wedding in TX from across the country (good thing I have an amazing mom & sister who helped me in TX). We thought we would stay up north for a while after we got married and then we would eventually move to TX. God really opened some doors for us and showed us that although we think we know where we are suppossed to be in life he is ultimately the one who decides. We made a move to TX quicker than expected. The move was bittersweet. We were so sad to leave a city we loved and friends we adore while at the same time we were so excited to move closer to family. Gregs family is in the St. Louis area with the exception of Kris & Dwaine who are in Dallas and all of my family is in the DFW area. Greg moved to TX at the beginning of August and I did the middle of August. All just weeks before the day we said "I DO"! And after all of this excitement we laid on the beach in Antigua for a week and soaked in the sun and prepared for our new lives we had ahead of us.

Where our Hearts Connected & Where a piece of them will remain!

In an effort to catch you up and years from now remind us of how it all began I thought that this would be a great place to start. Greg & I met while working for the same company out on the east coast. We were working on a project together in New Jersey. We became friends right away and it was not until the project ended and I went back to MA that we both realized there was something more than just a friendship between us. Greg stayed in NJ living right outside of NYC and we had a long distance relationship that when I look back and think about makes me smile. It was tough, we missed each other but it was so sweet and special and truly made us appreciate each other. After 6 months we both took jobs that moved us to Boston. This is where we spent the first 2 years of our relationship. This is where we really fell in love with each other and with the beautiful city that we lived in! We miss our Boston lives! We miss our special friends, the amazing city and the seeing water everyday ;)!
